Schwanger in der Pandemie – was ändert sich für Geburten?

Wie ist es, inmitten der Corona-Pandemie schwanger zu sein? Ich bin aktuell selbst in dieser Situation und wurde das erste Mal vor ein paar Wochen hellhörig, als ich den NYT-Times Bericht über Schwangere und frische Eltern in China las: ‘I Felt Like Crying’: Coronavirus Shakes China’s Expecting Mothers.
Da ich mich auch als Journalistin schon lange mit der Geburtshilfe beschäftige – zuletzt in diesem Text über Geburtseinleitungen mit Cytotec – machte mir der Gedanke an die Situation von Schwangeren schon zu Beginn der ersten Erkrankungen in Europa Sorge. Denn in den letzten Jahren haben viele Geburtshilfe-Stationen geschlossen, sind überlastet und Hebammen betreuen viele Gebärende gleichzeitig, was Risiken erhöht und mitunter zu traumatischen Erfahrungen führt. Manchmal werden Frauen unter Wehen sogar an Kliniken abgewiesen, da zu wenig Personal vor Ort ist. Wie wird es also in deutschen Kliniken sein, wenn Krankenhauspersonal, das in der Geburtshilfe tätig ist, selbst krank ist oder in Quarantäne?
Wie auch Irin Carmon bei „The Cut“ schreibt, balanciere ich als Journalistin zwischen dem professionellen Detachment und persönlicher Betroffenheit. Die Informationslage für Schwangere ist dünn und fokussiert sich dabei vor allem auf erste medizinische Erkenntnisse, wie z.B., ob der Virus von einer Schwangeren an das ungeborene Kind weitergegeben werden kann. Verlässlich kann dazu bislang nichts gesagt werden, auch wenn es aktuell erst einmal so aussieht, als würde der Virus nicht von der Schwangeren aufs Baby übertragen und auch, als gehörten Neugeborene erst einmal nicht in die Risikogruppe.
Doch welche neuen Regelungen greifen gerade in Kliniken? Was sind die Szenarien für in ein paar Wochen?
In Berlin hat die Senatskanzlei eine neue Verordnung getroffen, nach der zu Klinikgeburten nur noch eine Begleitperson mit darf. Das ist also schon eine Begrenzung, denn möglich war vorher, dass neben Partner*innen noch weitere Begleitpersonen mitkommen, sei es eine Doula, eine zweite Vertrauensperson oder ein*e Geburtsfotograf*in. Das geht nun nicht mehr. Zudem sind die Besuchszeiten stark reglementiert, Familienzimmer mit beiden Partner*innen können nicht mehr belegt werden. Es wird einsamer für Gebärende und ihre Babys, wenn sie mehrere Tage im Krankenhaus bleiben.
In sozialen Medien berichten Menschen aus anderen Bundesländern zudem bereits, dass ihre Kliniken keine Begleitpersonen mehr unter der Geburt erlauben. Doch wie soll das aussehen? Wenn in Kreißsälen keine 1:1-Betreuung durch Hebammen geleistet werden können und Partner*innen nicht mit hinein dürfen – sind dann Gebärende mitunter mehrere Stunden in den Wehen allein?
